Love, not passion nor fondness,
Pure and holy, from above it emanates,
‘Tis patience, kindness, not blindness,
Only from principle, only it resonates,
Not evanescent; not transient, want validation?
Unearned, unmerited, undeserved,
Unworthy, to bear its glory and grace,
Latent to the human, startlingly unprecedented,
Importunate, in my heart, to replace,
All self-seeking; all self serving, want confirmation?
Circle of concern, point of magnification,
That unable to control, to sway, command,
Has been our infatuation, our operation,
For you He wants, to experience firsthand,
How salvific; how electric, want verification?
Standing brazenly before the lofty king,
To no idol did they adore nor revere,
Into the crucible, their punishment, to wring,
The son of man did appear, no more fear,
Read Daniel; read my friend, more authentication?
Dead bodies waiting for cremation,
Spared from death, for you no burial,
Others in the fridge, for preservation,
Love is your belt of truth, no denial,
Why you; who knew, more corroboration?
Remember the bald prophet, the apprentice,
Sleeping in perfect peace, tranquility,
Waking to an army, innumerable like mice,
Fiery chariots, talk about unpredictability,
What a plot; what a twist, more evidence?
He asks for your heart, otherwise it’s His,
Keeping the gift impure, what a token of thanks,
From your unchristlike self, to save He wants,
To fill those empty vessels, like river banks,
You have veered off for too long,
Despair and sorrow now your song,
For the many faults and that you did wrong,
He now calls for you still belong,
And even as you tag along,
Remember to stay strong
