True Religion Is Lacking In Our World
A bunch of pretenders. Actors in holy robes, hollow in the heart.
Christ made that manifest when He came to earth, patiently leading us to the way of Heaven. The way of gentleness, the way of mercy. The way of selflessness, the way of life. But we turned from it. We exchanged it for the way of pride, the way of fear, the way of the crowd. And so we led Him down the way of rejection, the way of suffering, the way of the cross. Death.
And yet, even there, He conquered. Because the way we thought would end Him became the way He redeemed us.
He came not to start a club or build walls around belief. He came to show us that true religion is not membership in a group or an outward display of virtue. It is a life. A living sacrifice. A quiet, relentless giving of oneself.

That’s My Jesus
He has the power to give peace to troubled minds. With His gentle words. Singing to children. His countenance and demeanour. That warms up a cold face bruised from abuse of men and self-harm. Hands to embrace, a heart, that has forgotten what love feels like. Feet to walk with the lonely and broken hearted. Energy to work and provide for the destitute. Give them a home. A warm meal. A means of coming back on their feet. Dignity.
A plan to train them. To train us. Yes you. And me. To harness this power and spread it out into the world. Like a candle on top of a table. Small social circle first. Then a light on a hill. A lighthouse for the ships in the rough sea.
That is true religion. We hated him for it. Because it would mean giving a part of ourselves. This cruel world that has got us accustomed to survive by trampling on others. Compete with time. Never thinking about eternity.
That’s just what we discussed yesterday in reflection on the Work and the Life of Christ. Eating hot chapatis.

Chapati Break. Now Let’s Proceed
The one that turns men of sin to fall and rise up severally, running back to the arms of the Savior. That’s righteousness. The one that makes them not merely have a want to do good. But a desire. An obsession.
“To behold the beauty of the Lord.” All the days of their life. Psalm 27:4. To see life through His lens. Satisfied.
For they have understood that is how the divine principles of this universe function. And living according to these principles encoded in every replicating cell, in every tissue and physical body. In the metaphysical and all that surrounds us.
In every tree. In every flower. In every drop of water that graces the dry-caked earth. In every star. And beyond.
