What Peace, O God, do you bestow,
When thoughts like storms refuse to go?
Chasing light that fades away,
Dopamine sparks, but non will stay?
What Peace, when decisions made are stray,
From a restless heart that has lost its way?
Impulsive steps, desires take hold,
A weary soul, both lost and cold?
What Peace, when dreams lie dormant still,
And purpose feels beyond your will?
The resolve is there—yet never here,
A wish to start, but bound by fear?
What Peace, when others think you’ve found
The strength to stand on solid ground?
But deep inside, you know the truth—
You’ve only learned to hide your wounds?
What Peace, when schedules slip away,
And patterns of defeat still remain?
Caught in a loop, round and round,
Hope feels lost, peace is drowned?
What Peace, when you give in to sin,
Surrendering to what lies within?
Not knowing how to break the chains,
That bind you in these fleeting pains?
What Peace, when self-care fills your day,
When health is tended, mind at ease?
You’ve learned the tricks, the steps to stay,
But why, then, do you still feel diseased?
***********
This Peace, He promised in His Word,
If you seek, with heart assured,
In Jeremiah 29:13, He said you’d find,
If only you would seek and bind!
This Piece of Peace, the Truth so clear,
He planted deep, no excuse to fear!
Yet you got lost, and lost your way,
But John 14:6, still calls today!
This Peace, He offers, calm and pure,
That lets you lay your head for sure,
In Leviticus 26:6-13, He spoke so clear,
Oh, how you should hold it dear!
This peace, isn’t hiding somewhere—
It’s found in Him, when you surrender there!
In every step, in every prayer,
In every Truth, you meet Him there!
And though the storms will come and go,
What Peace to know He’ll hold you tight!
In every trial, in every woe,
This peace, your calm, in the night!
Hey Friend,
In your life’s issues, just as you’ve put across with words in the poem, never forget that:
This pursuit of peace you are looking for is hid in Christ.
Happiness drawn from earthly sources is as changeable as varying circumstances can make it; but the peace of Christ is a constant and abiding peace. It does not depend upon any circumstances in life, on the amount of worldly goods, or the number of earthly friends. Christ is the fountain of living water, and happiness drawn from Him can never fail.
I leave you with a beautiful song from The Heritage Singers—He Is Our Peace to grace your day.
May God give you the peace He wants you to receive.

Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
What a reaffirmation! Amen.
